Spring Camping

"I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in."
-George Washington Carver

Last month we brought our camper home during a snowstorm. I guided my husband as he backed it up into the driveway, all the while big fat snowflakes fell to the ground, making the task at hand quite difficult. It's kind of comical now, thinking back on the situation, but in the moment it felt as thought winter would never end and we would not have use for the camper we were struggling to park on the driveway.

Fast forward a few weeks: spring has sprung. Greens and pinks and yellows have replaced the drab whiteness. Rain boots and sandals were traded with snow boots and mittens. We've been spending as much time outdoors as possible, bare feet caked with dirt and ice cream rings around mouths.

In the middle of this seasonal transition, we hitched the camper to the truck and set out for our first camping trip of the year. As always, rain accompanied us, but we made do with our first ever camper movie date. Our first time out was a success with minimal complications (water heater broken, forgotten camera battery, etc.) and we already have more trips jotted down on the calendar.

Here is our Spring Camping film.

April Family Film

"Are you because of me?
Am I because of you?
The lines have since blurred."
-Katherine Mariaca-Sullivan

In my quest to document our everyday life in the month of April, I will admit that the extended winter dampened my creativity a bit. I love the candid moments I captured and I will always treasure them, but I am itching to get outside with my camera and film something other than the things that happen inside my house.

But spring is finally here! I think. Let's not jinx it. It is only May 1st, after all.
