A Month in Pictures {January}

"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness."
-John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America

It's becoming increasingly harder to find creative ways to keep my boys entertained indoors during these bitterly cold winter days. I've exhausted every option I have ever dreamed up already, and I fear we have much longer to go before the white of winter is replaced with the green grass and colorful flowers of spring. I'm having flashbacks of the blizzard in May last year, and these aren't pleasant thoughts.

This is how we spent in our arctic January, outlined in a series of photographs.
